Heart TEE results all were normal but found atrial septal aneurysm, diastolic dysfun present. What these mean. Any concerns or further action needed?
These findings although not normal are not uncommon. The septal aneurysm is a thinning if the septum between the left and right atrium and the important finding is that there is no flow across it. Diastolic dysfunction describes a stiffness of the muscular wall of the left ventricle and can be reversed with good blood pressure control.
